and Early head Start, Overnight camps, and military family assistance.
Who is the program for? Pregnant moms, infants, and toddlers through age three who live in the San Luis Valley. Eligibility is based on income, Specific Public Assistance, and family need. Total household income must be within federal poverty guidelines. We encourage all types of families to apply, especially families with children who have disabilities or other special needs and families who are learning English as a second language.
What is Early Head Start? Early Head Start (EHS) is a child development program designed to work with the family to empower the parent(s) with good parenting skills and support services. Services are at no cost to Families Through daily child care at local childcare centers and individualized visits with a trained Family Educator, the EHS program enhances children's physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development, assists pregnant women in accessing comprehensive prenatal and postpartum care, supports parents' in their parental roles AND helps parents move toward self-sufficiency. We do not provide daily transportation to and from the center. However, we may be able to provide transportation in certain circumstances in conjunction with other community agencies.
Why should YOU and YOUR FAMILY be interested? Parents are active participants in their child’s education from the very beginning! Early Childhood Council EHS will provide you with educational services, health services, nutrition education and assistance in finding other community resources your family may need! Call today! Parent Educators work with parents during critical early years of their lives, from conception to kindergarten. We offer fun activities, resources, materials, support, socialization opportunities
PFCE Managers work with expectant families- children up to the age of 3.Focusing on child development, family goal setting, child health, and parent education. Weekly visits and socialization opportunities
Experiences home visitors provide parents with skills and resources to interact positively with their children to achieve school readiness.
Early childhood educational advocates make home visits to assess kindergarten readiness through check lists and activities. Home learning is supplemented with ReadyRosie, LENA, language, and kids math programs to ensure children are ready to accel in their education.
Home visits provided by registered nurses who focus on the mother's personal health, provide guidance and information on child development and assist families in accessing community resources

EI Colorado provides a team of support for families so you never have to be alone in addressing your child’s developmental delay or disability. If the evaluation shows that your child qualifies for EI Colorado services, your family will be connected with a service coordinator. The service coordinator will guide your family to create a plan that includes all of the supports that your child and family will receive. EI Colorado services look different depending on your child’s needs and your family’s goals. Services can be provided by a variety of specialists, such as speech-language, physical, or occupational therapists. Webisite also availbe in spanish

Early Intervention services are offered at no cost to families. The program is voluntary, and families are not required to participate.
Blue Peaks Developmental Services provides service coordination for children who have or are at risk for developmental disabilities through several programs. Early Intervention Services can include therapies, assistive technology devices, family training and counseling, health services and social work services. The Children's Extensive Support program serves children with significant medical and/or behavioral needs and provides intensive supports that enable a parent to keep their child at home. The Family Support Services program assists families with costs beyond those normally experienced by other families without children with disabilities, and helps families avoid or delay costly out of home placements.
