Oreo Is Dropping 3 New Cookie Flavors in 2024, Including One Inspired by a Beloved NYC Pastry

We'll take one of each, thanks.

We’re almost halfway through the month of December, so the very best planners among us may already be writing the rough drafts of their New Year’s resolutions. In case you’re the kind of person who’s already thinking about what they’d like to change in 2024, you may not want to commit to cutting back on the Oreos. The classic cookie brand has just announced that it’s adding three new cookies to its lineup early next year, including a new Cakester, a New York-inspired cookie, and a gluten-free option.

According to Oreo, the limited edition Oreo Black & White cookies will be released on January 1. These were inspired, of course, by the iconic Black & White cookie that has been a Manhattan bakery staple for over 100 years. Oreo’s version fills a Golden Oreo cookie with half-chocolate, half-vanilla creme, but we’ll give them props for the effort. (These cookies will only be available while supplies last, so if you try them and love them, you may want to stock up.)

Just two days later, on January 3, Oreo will introduce a new gluten-free cookie: the self-explanatory Oreo Gluten-Free Golden. According to Oreo, gluten-free Golden Oreos have been the most requested Gluten Free flavor, so the company decided to work its magic and bring them to life. But unlike the Oreo Black & White cookies, these new gluten-free Oreos will be “a permanent fixture” in its lineup.

And finally, Oreo is expanding its soft-baked Cakesters offerings with the arrival of Oreo Peanut Butter Cakesters. The filling is the only difference between these and the classic Cakesters because — you guessed it — these are filled with smooth, creamy peanut butter. Oreo says that these are here to stay, too.

As always, Oreo has been busy releasing new flavors (and then heartlessly pulling them from supermarket shelves after that "limited time" runs out). Earlier this year, it brought those eternally coveted Oreo Red Velvet cookies back for a painfully short run. Those Oreos originally debuted in 2017, and their arrival was met with a kind of excitement that bordered on skepticism, like, "How can something this incredible actually exist???" Oreo lovers were so concerned that this was a giant internet fakeout, Snopes had to write an article confirming that, yes, Red Velvet Oreos actually exist.

This year also saw the release of the Most Oreo Oreos, which were filled with creme that contained…pieces of Oreo cookies. They also re-released Cotton Candy Oreo cookies after an eight-year wait, and they brought back S'mores Oreos under the portmanteau "S'mOreo."

Who knows what they'll create — or bring back — in 2024. Maybe your New Year's resolution should actually be to eat MORE Oreos?
